Key won't turn when put in ignition

Help! My 2016 turbo beetle with 4500 miles has
been giving me a fit. The key will go into the ignition
but not turn over. This doesn't always happen but
when it does it will go on for 10to 25 minutes. I turn
the wheel, take the key out to start again but
nothing works. I took the car to the dealer and they
said they replaced the ignition system. The next day
same thing again. I took it back and they have had
it for a week. Called today and said it hadn't
happened at all. How would I know if they did put in
a new ignition system. I never received new keys.

Your key wont turn because it might be locked. Theres a secret way for the key to turn , you might have to mess around with your gears or steering wheel. I had a honda and it locked just like your situation but all I had to do is mess around with the steering wheel & gear

they would have reprogrammed the key if they had put in a new ignition as for a secret way thats not a secret thats the ignition either having weight on the lock pin and you got it loose enough to pop the lock out. Try parking your car with the e brake before removing your foot from the brake. this should keep the steering wheel from turning and putting the entire weight of the car on it. aside from that if the key is loose in the ignition where it sloppily moves about its likely they never replaced the ignition and the cylinder is not catching the lock pin release which is surrounded by a plastic piece .. that takes all the weight of your car when you leave it on a hill and let the wheels roll forward.. smart arnt they :P
