repair issue with ford explorer, fuel pump related.

just had the fuel pump replaced. losss of horsepower, slight whining noise at
acceleration, especially uphill.

Could be installed incorrectly or the wrong pump, wrong fuel strainers, plugged fuel filters, collapsed fuel hoses or damaged fuel lines,fuel pump wiring or voltage problems.

From the question, I assume you had this done by a professional mechanic. Take it back and have him do it right. Or refund your money and take the car to someone who knows what he's doing.

It's just diagnostics, and fuel systems are rather easy. Get a good repair manual and follow instructions.
