2015 Chevy Captiva Steering Column replacement

Asked by Guru9PTNTK Jun 15, 2022 at 06:22 AM about the 2015 Chevrolet Captiva Sport LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was vandalized and we had to replace the steering column (salvage)
All my dash lights are on.  Stabiltrak, ABS, Change transmission and engine
oil and service light.  Car steers appropriately but the cruise control, horn
and radio controls on the steering wheel do not work.  Key, wiper and head
light switch work fine.  When they run the computer and ask the horn to honk
it does.  Did I get a bad steering column or is the mechanic missing
something?  All codes were cleared but the lights still came back on and still
no steering wheel control features as above.  It drives fine, brakes work
good.  Mechanic is lost as how to fix it.  Took it to several mechanics.

Sounds like a clock spring problem but usually a check engine light comes on and it gets the code. Could also be a programming glitch in the BCM. Was the vehicle reflashed after you installed the new column?
