Can I drop my 1994 GMC Jimmy engine into a 2004 Envoy?

Asked by Strander5 Sep 16, 2015 at 03:51 PM about the 1994 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr SLE SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1994 GMC JImmy was t-boned and insurance wants to total it out and
pay out very little.  The engine is still very solid.  It has been our cabin car
for the last 10 years.  Stored winters and only 1000 miles a summer.  I
have found some trucks, the 2004 GMC ENVOY above, that have fried
their engine but the body is still good.  My question is how expensive is it to
swap engines and what vehicles would be workable.
Thank you
