I have a 1994 gmc jimmy. My stock radio is a delco with a tape player. I can set the clock and it keeps time but will not power on. I Also tried a delco Bose stereo and the same thing happens.

The Bose system may have a security lock and your stock radio may just be done, also check your antenna connection is good. Your best bet is to go with a good aftermarket radio, they sound better and have more features.
