Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 ford expediton xlt 4x4.  5.4 Triton.  It has a very loud squeal
every time I start it.  It idles for about 5 mins and then it will gradually stop.  If I

There are two possibles I can think of - a bad serpentine belt or a problem with the power steering. Check the fluid level.

Could be a timing chain issue and bad tensioners. Would need to hear the sound to make that determination. Removing the serpentine belt and briefly starting the engine will tell you if it is belt related or not. Just don't run the engine for more than a minute or so.

Just put fluid in the power steering and changed the serpentine belt, and it is still doing it. It seems to be coming from the side of motor by the cab, maybe like somewhere around the passenger side. When I give it gas with it in park and when it is in drive. Only when I give it gas. It goes away after a few minuets but if i turn the truck off and start it again it does it.
