2015 F150 Ignition coil installation problem

Asked by GuruB6F16 Jan 19, 2019 at 10:40 PM about the 2015 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m not a mechanic and it’s my first time to
change the coil and plug on any vehicle.

Vehicle: 2015 F150 V6 non-Ecoboost

The mechanic shop said coil # 3 is bad and
needs to be replaced.  I bought and installed
1 new coil and 1 new spark plug on # 3 and
put it all back together.  Now the motor is
misfiring and shaking even more than before
the install when I rev the motor.  Also, I hear
what sounds like the sucking of air right
around the area of the number 3 coil when
the motor is reved/RPMs increased.

I’m assuming I didn’t install something
correctly.

Any help to remedy is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Correct assumption, go back and find your error..Reread and view this procedure being carried out spark plug being torqued, connection of spark plug boot to coil and connection of wiring harness to coil. Also give yourself a reward for doing this! purchase a code reader so low cost there's no excuse for anyone not owning one in 2019
