All of my oil spilled out onto the floor and my oilr filter housing is loose

Asked by GuruBG77Y Jan 30, 2019 at 12:30 AM about the 2001 Ford Escape XLT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Why did my oil spill out everywhere like something
exploded? It left a huge trail of oil on the ground,
and the mount or housing that the oil filter is
connected to, is loose. Anyone know what could be
going on?

Did it make any noises right before this happened? Sounds like you threw a connecting rod in the bottom of the engine. Look for cracks or broken pieces of the engine block or oil pan.
