why after a jump stat do i not have control of certain features of the car

I have a 2015 Ford Taurus limited. We had a dead battery, the door locks
wouldn’t even function. My wife drove it to the school parked shut everything
off and upon re-starting, nothing. I was away so a co worker was able to start
it off a dodge ram and get it moving. When I returned the car still would not
start. I had ford roadside assistance jump it again only this time I have no
control of radio volume or climate controls. The defrost fan is on full fan and
heat is set to max temp.  The LCD screen shows that the climate controls
are off.  The entire touch interface below the LCD screen does not respond
to touch. Also noticed that the interior lighting is flickering too . Even the sync
voice commands wont shut it off. I want to get it to a auto parts store to get a
new battery. The tech that jumped it said the batter is taking a charge, which
means my alternator is working but that battery is not charging.  I cant find
much in the manual on why the heat is on like that, but I do understand the
battery relearn procedures.

You say that you understand the battery relearn procedure. Do you mean to say that you know how to do the procedure? Did you conduct the procedure already?

Hopefully once you get a new battery hooked up you'll be set, start the car and don't touch any of the controls, this should allow the automatic systems to calibrate and relearn

Thanks to all, I got a Duralast Gold from Autozone and all of those faults went away, my battery was so dead it wouldn't even start after driving for a while. I have to get an oil change tomorrow anyway and I was going to have the tech check the computer for any other issues anyway. But so far so good.
