Credit Nightmares

Question type: General

Nearly every car dealer including the big ones say "don't worry about your credit - we can work out all kinds of deals for people with bad or even no credit. Then the process begins and I end up in the same place every time. Filling out a ton of paperwork only to get the same answer - "No sorry". Is there any way to make this more stream lined at least at the beginning of the process? That way no one wasye's their time.

This is an endless cycle which will hurt your credit over time. The best thing you can do at this point once filling out tons of apps, is to have cash in hand at the time a deal is made. We started out with low credit scores but showing the dealership cash helped our cause. So until you have cash for a large down payment. you'll have to wait on getting a new or even used car/truck. Cut those credit cards and throw them away. this process with take several months, but you must avoid filling out any applications or applying for credit cards. It's not going to be easy and it will take time. We've actually had to file for bankruptcy, tore up our credit cards and have been debt free for the last 10 years.
