Will your car alarm go off if someone vandalizes your car by slashing the tires?

Say a vandal slashes your two back tires.  Will the car alarm go off?  Is it set
up to go off if this happens?

I doubt it. Alarms rely on motion sensors. So it will activate say for a bump or a car door or window opening when the vehicle is locked.
