Passenger airbag off when my wife sits on a cushion

Question type: General

When my wife or I sit on the cushion on the passenger seat the airbag sign
says off. How can we deal with this? (No jokes pls.)

We're not light: 170 for me, 125-130 for her.

We use a cushion bc we both find the seat by itself quite uncomfortable.

Try it with and without the cushion. If the air bags work without the cushion you know what the problem is.
