Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I went to Burger King today and I saw the fuel light on when I was waiting in line
for my burger at the drive through with the gas gauge saying it was close to
empty. When I started driving the fuel light went off and the gas gauge went
back to normal saying it was close to full. I am guessing this is a gas gauge
issue in the dashboard but again I am not sure.

Sounds like a fuel gauge sender unit sending the wrong signal intermittently, both the low fuel warning light and the gauge require the correct ohms at all time to work correctly.

I replaced the fuel pump in my 94 gmc 1/2 ton with one from nipa and the gauge is either high or low , it's never worked right and it has ground . FYI

Most likely tome is that the fuel in the tank was low and when you left Burger King and accelerated, the fuel shifted to the back of the tank. Good news is that your warning light is working and you need to put in some gas.
