A rebuild in US Dollars is between around $2500 and a replacement about $3500 on avg. Your vehicle is worth around $3500 if in nice shape. Up to you if you want to spend that money and drive the vehicle for a couple more years. If the truck is in rough shape and you expect to sell soon, time to dump it.

Having it rebuilt is around $2,600. Buying a rebuilt tranny is roughly $800 all day long at least in my area. Buying a rebuilt one is the way I'd go since the I6 engine is bullet proof.
