Not starting

Asked by K Mar 12, 2019 at 05:01 AM about the 2002 GMC Envoy 4 Dr SLE 4WD SUV

Question type: General

I have a 2002 GMC Envoy.. never had issues
with it. One day put it in reverse and it died
while putting it in drive. It died I started it.
Later that night same issue..I started it
reversed trued to put in drive..died never
came back on... replaced battery..Walmart
said it was dead..replaced it..still nothing.
Could it be spark plugs...fuel pump?.all
lights are on..radio..it tries to start but won't.

Thank you..I can't even drive it anywhere...won't start. Someone said maybe ignition switch. I'm going to buy a code machine to see if it will tell me...bro checked transmission fluid..it's fine too. Thanks

Ok, a mechanic came to house to look at it...he went straight to serpatine belt...I think what's it's called....said something had locked up....so removed the belt. It started right up...no problem...he ordered some part for it....compressor. I think.
