Ford Expedition ran with no oil a clanging noise began probably cause no oil and metal to metal contact is damage to big i added oil but tge clanging noise is still there.

Sounds like you slung a rod, rod bearing or main bearing. Will need to rebuild it if any of the above is wrong with it.

You can scrap this one... 2002 probably is not worth the cost of an engine rebuild. sorry but NEVER let you oil get more than a quart low. I don't know how long you have had the car but I change my oil every 5000 miles and most of my driving is interstate/highway.

You must always check your oil. I also have an expedition 2002, and my husband and I get our oil changed every 5000 miles also. He drives far everyday to work. I have lost so many cars due to carelessness. Now I'm on it.
