Tire feels like it’s skipping

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had the front passenger tie rod on my
envoy replaced and since it’s been done I have
noticed when I hit a bump the car seems to be
thrown around from that side and when I turn it’s
like that tire skips and doesn’t want to turn properly,
which has gotten worse. Today I made a u turn and
it felt like my tire was going to come right off and
my vehicle had a very hard time turning
jumping/skipping from that side repeatedly. I’ve
brought this issue up to the person that fixed it but
they shrugged it off saying it’s probably in my head,
but I know it’s not and have others in my car tell me
it feels unsafe and like something is seriously wrong
with it. Anyone have any idea what the problem
could be? I know the tire is put on properly as That
has been checked.

I would highly suggest taking your car to an ASE Certified mechanic and letting them look it over. You do NOT want to be playing around with tie rod/wheel issues at any kind of speed.

Take it to a suspension / alignment shop and have then take a close look at the suspension. Also I would avoid the person that fixed it as he might not have the expertise to correctly repair your vehicle. Your vehicle should have had an alignment after replacing the tie rod and I'll bet it didn't.
