Service engine light blinking

Asked by Sheena02 Mar 08, 2019 at 09:31 PM about the 2002 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a suv and it just recently started
shaking/jerking while losing power as if
running out of gas. It has plenty of gas so
that’s not the problem. And while it’s doing all
this the service engine light is blinking then
whenever it stops the service engine light
goes away. It has an exhaust leak near the
motor could those be related?

You might take it to AutoZone or any mechanic shop to run the codes. The service engine light blinking most of the time indicates a misfire. A misfire in a cylinder can cause a rough idle.
