Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a 2014 F250 Super Duty 6.7 liter engine. It does not have a
block heater. I live in Kansas and want your input on whether I need to get
one installed.

It will help with starting on a cold morning. Definitely worth the investment.

All the 6.7's have the block heater installed, they just don't have the cord attached... Check rockauto.com or Amazon. you can buy them a lot cheaper online and even install yourself..... just plug the cord in and route it to the front bumper.

How cold does it get in Kansas? If you have to park it outside it may start easier with the heater but if it starts easy on cold mornings then you really don't need a block heater.

Had the dealership check it out...no block heater....decided to get one installed. It's a frigid 12 degrees in Kansas this morning. More unseasonably cold weather coming. Thank you both for commenting. Full_of_Regrets, alexee

not all 6.7 powerstrokes come with a block heater. it's an easy install you can do on your own if you have the right tools.
