Burnt oil smells

Asked by GuruZZBR8 Oct 12, 2017 at 12:06 AM about the 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2009 ford crown Vic smells like it is
burning oil when I’m idling and each time I
shut it off and periodically I see lots of
smoke coming out of the tailpipe when I
take off from a stop. Is it possibly the oil
rings?

The burned oil smell at idle and shut off maybe valve cover gaskets leaking oil on exhaust manifolds.

If its rings a little thicker oil may help stop it a little bit, and if valve stem seals some Lubegard oil treatment could help with that depends on how bad it is, but worth a try, there is also a trans additive Lubegard too worth noting. Red Bottle for yours.
