Question type: Shopping & Pricing

So I have a mildly upgraded 2004 2.0l jett and I want to sell it so it can help me
buy a 2004 WRX. How much can I make off my car and what should I expect
driving this faster car.

Blowing it up as you empty your wallet. Seriously, WRXes show up at wholesale auctions all the time with three different paint jobs and blown turbos. My discussions with the city's Finest show they're real ticket-bait, too. The 2.0t is more reliable than the 2.5t, but is really anemic in daily driving, being painfully slow off the line. I understand what you're chasing, but nobody makes it! If Subie would put the 2.5i into the Imp it'd be a great all-rounder with great eco and make the WRX look stupid.

This IS a tough one, as the VW 2.0t is probably the best motor, but VW/AUDI are pretty demanding electrically to own later on, especially in a corrosive environment. I generally do NOT adise that folks buy used turbo-driven motors, as proper lube and lack of abuse are more critical. So get a new A3 Quattro if you can afford it?? Just tryin' to help.

If you don't need AWD then your options open up, but I would never drive a front wheel drive again after several decades of AWD (and my hormonal Miata).

If you use your WRX hard or race it on the weekend and then blow it up Subaru won't be fixing it under warranty!
