Shifting from park and park does not disengage

2014 Ford Escape Titanium 2.0 As subject
previously stated, unable to shift from park (shifter
does move from park aka lighted notification P
goes off) yet Park itself does not disengage.

Any thoughts?

The shifting cable apparently snapped. My extended warranty was able to cover as my drivetrain warranty did not.
