Resetting computer in 2003 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had some repairs done on my 2003 Ford Taurus. I
had a diagnostic test saying it needed a mass air
flow sensor and idle  control sensor. ( It was
wanting to stall, it was loosing power and
sputtering) The mechanic didn't replace either of
these but did replace mass air sensor, spark plugs
and  wire set, PVC valve on the plenum, hoses and
cleaned out some things. It has a lot more power
and it runs better but it still sputters. The mechanic
said it would correct itself after awhile. I was told it
needs to be reset and  drive it about 20 minutes to
retrain the computer.
What is accurate  and what isn't? I'm driving 4
hours home and been on road for 11/2 hours and
still acting up. Please any advice would be
appreciated.

There is no code that says u need a new mass air flow sensor... theres codes that tell u circuit performance and u have to determine the cause

There is no correcting if it is still sputtering. You need another mechanic. Most probably vacuum hose.
