89K5 Blazer TBI removal

Asked by Garrett Dec 02, 2018 at 01:23 PM about the 1989 Chevrolet Blazer Silverado 2-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 89K5 Blazer project. It had no
motor and the wiring harness for the TBI was
hacked up. I bought a 350  with a carburetor
and a turbo 400 trance. I got most of the
motor hooked up. I am running a electric feel
pump with 4 to 7 psi mounted on the frame
rail. I am wondering how to wire it and do I
still need a fuel Pump relay? And it seems
like I have no power anywhere what would
cause that to happen?

Get rid of the electronic fuel pump and put a manual one on it. Will make life a lot easier a manual one will self-regulate going up and down and pressure as the motor RPMs increase. An electronic is constant and if you run it too high you'll blow your needle and seat out of the carburetor.
