There is so many ways this car was produced, 6 cyl, 8 cyl, auto, manual. but on an combined they got about 15 mile per gallon. Anyway I would a complete tune-up on the car this in includes PLUGS, WIRES, AIR FILTER, FUEL FILTER, BELTS, OIL CHANGE, MAKE SURE YOUR TIRES ARE INFLATED CORRECTLY. NEW THERMOSTAT AND COOLANT.
Pretty standard for your truck especially if you have the 460.

a 1990 F150 XLT Lariat 5.0 and I get better gas mileage out of the front fuel tank than I do the rear fuel tank any guesses as to why

i just bought a 2002 F150 4.2 6L and it's only getting 8 mpg. I spent $700 on tune up and fuel injector overhaul and it only increased the mpg by maybe 1 mpg. Something else I might try?

09 Ford Fusion runs good but terrible fuel mileage was 25mpg now after 85000 miles its only 18.7. That's horrible!
