Starter solenoid location??

Asked by deneenritter May 16, 2019 at 03:36 PM about the 2003 Ford Ranger 2 Dr XLT Extended Cab SB

i am told there is a starter solenoid under the hood on the fire wall..however i
can't find it anywhere. it is driving me crazy. i replaced the starter and the auto
part stores swears there is one attached on the firewall..but where??

I looked up your starter motor, online partsbook, your vehicle, 3.0L engine. The solenoid sits on top of starter motor, if that is what you have, don't worry about looking for it on the firewall. There is a starter relay, should be in fuse box. I also looked up your security system, it said, starter motor disable, something to think about if your having a problem. What I posted is my opinion. Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good.
