My 1989 cavalier z24 2.8l stops running as soon as I take my foot off the gas

If I hold the gas peddle in
park it stays running but as
soon as I take my foot off the
gas it dies

did u change the fuel filter? if that does not help, check fuel pressure. u may need a fuel pump

Fuel pump or FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ...also research asking about the IDLE AIR system ... I seen similar cars behave this way and it was the EGR Valve... In this case I would also check the ignition control module... Or ignition coils.... Check them... Perhaps something in the fuel injection system not letting it stay ON .. dirty injectors or perhaps the Air Temperature Sensor located near air intake.. Works as MAF Sensor... Check the Throttle position se sor too. Good luck man.
