On my 89 z24 chevy cavalier 2.8 liter v6 im trying to find the crankshaft sensor, need step by step how to go about getting to it and how to find it

Your best bet is to go to YouTube. There's a ton of videos there to instruct you step by step.

Here is a wiring diagram of z24,the sensor is located at the bottom motor pulley,follow wiring harness and you will see it,it only has one bolt in it. (HTH)

Look right below or above the crankshaft pulley..there should be a 7/16 bolt holding it in place
