Engine stalling and leaking oil

Asked by James Jun 05, 2021 at 11:54 PM about the 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier Type 10 Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

About 2 years ago I bought a 85 Chevy cavalier type
10 with the 2.0 in it. It drove fine for a bit but now
after driving on the road or highway for about 10
minutes the car bogs down and stalls while in drive
and starts to leak oil, once started again it stalls right
away when it goes back into gear. Any ideas what
might be causing this problem

It could be the Transmission, if after it warms up , then stalls in any gear except park and neutral. Leaking oil concerns me, is it really engine oil or is it trans fluid? The Torque convertor lock solenoid has probably failed or the trans is need an over haul or replacement.
