2003 focus

I have a 2003 Ford Focus with an overheating
issue. Thermostat opens as it should and the
car runs cool on the highway. Once traffic
starts or doing city driving the car starts to
get warm. I know the fans are not getting
power through the plug. So far I have
replaced the cylinder head temp sensor, fan
resistor and relay. Any help is greatly
appreciated

Yes, the problem is the fans are not coming on when they should. The only thing left to check is the fan fuse.
Do you have any insight as to where it would be? I’ve checked the fuses under the hood and all of them checked out. I looked up diagrams for the interior box and it didn’t show anything for cooling fans and I don’t recal anything for a/c either.

I better mention your vehicle has two cooling fans, each with it's own fuse. One comes on with the A/C, and the other one comes on when the engine coolant gets too hot. Go to the under the hood fuse box and check fuses #6 and #65, they are both 30 amp cooling fan fuses. One or both may be burnt out. If they both burn out again, you may find the fan(s) are drawing too much current...shorting out or seized up/dry shaft bearings. See if it turns by hand freely.
The fan will and does spin easily. If I hook a power probe up to it, it will spin and work as it should. I will check the fuses again and see if I can find anything. My main issue is that the power is not getting to the plug(s).

Okay. Good that the fan motors are okay. And yes, there is no power to the fans. The power has to pass through fuses first. You'll find it.
If you did not disconnect the battery when you changed the resistor, you may have grounded it out and need to replace it again. Just happened to me.
