My BMW 528e is having electric problems and stops running randomly. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently the BMW 528e that we own has been having trouble staying running, and has
been breaking down in the middle of the road. It has been pinpointed to an electrical
problem, but that's as far as our mechanics can figure out. Whenever it breaks down
the entire car (engines, lights, etc.) shuts off for no reason, and it can't be started
again. It has stranded us a few times on fairly major intersections, and at least once on
our mechanics. Our family has replaced some parts on our own, and we are definitely
not professional mechanics, so the problem may come from these minor repairs. Any
information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check your connection to the battery to make sure it is nice and tight. A loose connection will cause your symptoms. Also check your grounds to ensure they are also secured. Do a search on your car to find where the ground points are located. Should be some obvious ones in the Engine bay.
