1983 Porsche 928 Automatic Transmission will not engage

Put my car in shop they replaced my air pollution
pump and my power steering pressure hose.  When
completed the transmission stopped working.  The
car makes a noise that sounds like the drive shaft is
spinning.  What could this be?

Sure seems like the shop would check the torque tube? Really, the shop can't diagnose this?
