car stalls

Asked by Jeri Jul 08, 2018 at 12:05 AM about the 2003 Ford Escape XLT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter.  Car would stall when driven 5 feet. Starts right back up. Idles great but shudders at 4k rpm. Replaced the fuel filter again. Still same problems

Would get the codes read if not done already and give the throttle body a cleaning. Won't cost much and probably needs it done anyway. CRC makes a throttle body cleaner. Carbon build up makes them do annoying things. Have a look at your rubber vacuum lines too.Good Luck!
