BMW running hot 1998 328i
I've changed water pump, replaced fan clutch,
replaced coolant reservoir, replaced oil filter gasket
and valve cover gasket, changed oil and filter. But it
still runs hot fast.
Change the thermostat? Bleed the system of air properly?
I've also changed thermostat. Can transmission fluid make the radiator run hot.
Have you flushed out the cooling system with a chemical cleaner? Unfortunately you may be looking at a cracked head or blown head gasket. These vehicles do NOT like to be run hot at all!! Try flushing out the cooling system and be sure you have all the air out before having it tested for a cracked head or blown head gasket. HTH. -Jim
