Lack of acceleration when pressing the gas pedal

I recently removed and cleaned the throttle body on my 89
toyota pickup its a 3 liter V6 2 wd. Initially when i put it back
in the car the idle was i termittent and the engine started
shaking back and forth. Checked for a vac leak retightened
a the housing bolts and tried it again. Started her up idle
started to surge and the fan blew hard. Adjusted the
throttle cable and now it idles fine but when i press on the
gas there is no a sputter and the car goes nowhere at this
point im at a loss any ideas?

Did you readjust the tps? Also do a hard set of the ECM. Disconnect both battery cables and touch them together in order to discharge all the capacitors in the system, you may have to help it idle when it first restarts but will get better.

Hey mike how would one readjust the tps?and thanks for the reset tip. You think the mass air flow sensor or air inflow sensors might be involved,?
