The master cylinder needs to be bled first. Usually there is a kit in the box to do this. Disconnect the brake lines on the master cylinder, connect the rubber hoses and insert in the resevoir of the master cylinder. Have some one slowly pump the brakes until all of the air bubbles are gone. Reconnect the brake lines and bleed brakes starting with the right rear then left rear right front and lastly left front. Sorry to say but when you installed the MC you put air throughout the system. It may take awhile but it will it will be ok.

One other thing. Make sure when you do bleed the brakes, the person holds down the pedal to the floor and leaves it there until you tighten the bleeder. Pump pump pump hold, loosen bleeder, then tighten bleeder screw.
