I put a new throttle body gasket in and the idle went high. I took it off and it runs a little better. What does that mean?

Vacuum leak with gasket..may have been un-clean mating surfaces or too much gasket sealer -- if you used any. Gasket folded or wrong one. Better seal without gasket than with
