2013 Sub Impreza, 2.0L. A/C Filters

I'm confused by the maint manual.  Schedule states that "HVAC system A/C filter" is due to be replaced "every 12 months...7500 miles".  ???  Is that the inside cabin filter or the engine compartment "air cleaner element"?
