My it ran out of gas and can't get it started
again does it need a certain amount n it to
start

it would depend on the angle of your tank and where your fuel pump is located you need enough for your fuel pump to engage OR when you ran it out of gas your blew your fuel pump can you hear it turn on?

"Put 5 gallons in it and it should start." Unless you ruined the fuel pump by running it out of gas.
