Shift lever on Steering column

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How would I adjust the gear indicator (automatic) to align up with my shift lever on my steering column?  
I am in drive and the indicator shows me being almost in neutral.

under cover under steering wheel their is a wire with a clipon it pull off pull until it is in right place hook clip back on.reinstall cover.sometim you can look under steering collom shifter and see it.

    On the highway, my 00 Dodge Dakota, automatic won't shift into any high gear. Redlines going 50. It grabs the gear but falls back out when I give it gas. Any ideas?
