1)Red light above stereo normal? 2) power steering fluid compartment smokes after a while??!!

I have a 1999 dodge stratus with 225*** mi a red light is always on, on top of the stereo is that normal? As well my car well literally turn off after driving it for 5-10 minutes and the battery light comes on 2 minutes after I t urn it on it is the battery that needs to be replaced correct? As well smoke comes out of the power steering fluid container. any help please!!!!!????

Which red light? Any indications would be useful. Battery light can have more than one meaning. Have the codes checked first at the shop or local parts store that offer this service. About the smoke, your fluid could be contaminated with water and/or overheating. Check the color, it should be red. Fluid could also be overheating if not properly cooled. Fluid goes to a cooler next to the radiator. It could be blocked Anyway you'll need to bring the car to the shop if you don't want to flush the fluid yourself. If you feel like it, there are good videos on YouTube showing how to do it.
