I have a 1999 Dodge Durango SLT V8 with an engine code "TBUS" the dealer cannot interpet the code can you help.

My car starts sometimes.  The check engine light displays a  code over the mileage reader "tobus".  I took it Chrysler/dodge for repair.  They were not able to figure the code out.  Speculations were I needed two pulleys replaced and a fuel pump.  Even with a good day of start-up the engine light still comes on the car want start and the "tobus" code is back.

What PO code did you get ? You can turn the iginition key fast 3 times from off to on leaving it on on with out cranking it and the po code should appear in the dash where the odo is.

change out the CPU...the 1999 durango is famous for that...I know..agter changing fuel pump and checking battery...it was the CPU...can buy online for about $100...make sure it is for your VIN# though.
