fuel system repairs

Asked by hellofromned Feb 11, 2015 at 02:05 PM about the 1985 Nissan 300ZX 2 Dr 2+2

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

coolant hoses replaced . now engine hesitates at about 2000-2300 rpm before
Slowly dropping back to normal idle [about] 700 rpm.
have to shift into neutral when stopping. otherwise, the engine is still running at
2000 rpm while i'm trying to stop.
coolant may be red herring. that's just when the idling problem appeared.
generally runs well, but occasionally is hard to start.
mechanic advises new : idle fuel valve and/or throttle body. expensive parts when
it's not clear what is really needed.
any help would be appreciated !!!
