My 2013 Chevy Malibu is losing power, says engine overspeed or engine reduced speed.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi. My 2013 Chevy Malibu LTZ is
losing power, I have to jump it for it
to start and it only works decently in
manual. It says engine reduced speed
or engine overspeed. I had it looked at
pep boys, they gave me a code P228.
They said it might be the throttle
position sensor but I bought the part,
had a mechanic install it, nope wasnt
it. He said it may be the fuel pressure
regulator. I don't know what else to
do. Please help...

If your warranty expired, take it to a real mechanic- not Pep Boys
