Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband has put ATF +4 fluid into our jeep. It is
a CVTtransmission. Is this ok? .

NO!!! Have the car towed to a shop that can flush all the ATF out and install the correct CVT fluid.

I'm not sure flushing it is an option as it has well over 100,000 miles and I have been told flushing one that high mileage is bad. I can say the jeep hasn't been driven since the oil was put in. As I realized this may have been a fatal error before I got into the jeep when I saw the bottles laying on the ground

If you do not get all the ATF out you will ruin the transmission. If you do not flush it then change the fluid several times.

Ok guys--so I want to clear some stuff up. 1. Car hasn't moved. 2. Napa auto parts sold him the fluid after getting make and model. 3. I have called autozone and a different parts store who both offered me the same fluid that we put into the jeep as a viable transmission fluid. That is why I am so confused and am at a loss. Parts stores are all giving us the same answer. That doesnt make it right, I'm just saying that is why I'm here. I dont know if it is in fact viable or not.

I have a Jeep 2011Compas and was told by the Dealer not to use ATF +4 which I used for my Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd. Compass use the CVTF+4 Transmission fluid. Glad I called the dealer first before I pour the ATF on the Compass. Buy the CVTF+4 Transmission fluid at the Dealer. It does not cost much.

Same here I called auto parts and they provided a different transmission fluid which is not in the owners manual. I just went and bought cvt+4 from mopar to be sure.
