Honda Pilot 2009 Noise when starting

Asked by HondaTim777 Jan 06, 2015 at 08:14 PM about the 2009 Honda Pilot EX-L with DVD 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car starts fine, but as final sound to starting, it makes a sound that is like a short burst of a horn or a squeal. Have found others online who also have same noise, but no explanation for what it is or if it indicates a problem. Why does it do this?

Have someone start the vehicle while you are watching the engine compartment. Listen carefully to the area of the serpentine belt. It could be a bearing in one of the pulleys.
