4 wheel drive

Asked by Luke8766 Nov 29, 2018 at 12:31 PM about the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X 4WD

Question type: General

I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The sales
people told me "The 4 wheel drive is automatic, so when
the car senses a tire slip a quarter turn, the 4 wheel drive
automatically kicks on." My question is, how long does it
stay on provided there are no more slips? I asked the same
people but no one seems to know. Does the 4 wheel drive
stay on for like 15 minutes? Does it turn off instantly? There
is no way to manually turn on/off the 4 wheel drive. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

how do you know it's instant? Does a light come on? Can you do it manually with the knob? I just got one and everything said 4x4 and 4wd as does the car fax. I have no knob! I'm confused.
