2005 Honda Accord does not shift from reverse into drive right away and while driving the engine will start to
When backing up in reverse then shifting to drive, car does not shift right
away. Also while you are driving the car begins to rev.
Please see this below., It sounds like your transmission failed. http://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2005/transmission/t ransmission_failure.shtml
Thanks. I am trying to determine if I should have it fixed or not.
Don't know what else is wrong with your car,. BUT, I generally think it's best to switch cars at 12 years and based on your experience, you're right there now with or without this disaster. A new transmission is thousands, or you could try a rebuilt or exchange, but, I'd still get rid of the car pretty quickly. You're going to have to evaluate whether fixing the car is worth getting a better price.
I had a 1995 Honda Accord EX wagon for 19 years and almost 150,000 miles, no engine or transmission issues. Honda is NOT the car company it used to be.
Thank you for your responses. I understand and agree with you on everything you said. I really appreciate your help. Will be moving forward with finding my replacement.
