2011 Jeep Cherokee losing XM Presets Randomly After Switching Driver Profiles

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Jeep keeps randomly losing XM radio presets after returning to my driver 2
profile.  Initially I had thought that it was caused by me pressing the driver 2
profile and not waiting for the seat to move completely to driver 2's position
before starting the car.  I was able to reproduce this issue one time and
haven't been able to get this to happen since.  The dealership will not replace
radio or any other parts unless they are able to reproduce the issue.

I have taken it in multiple times and even showed them how all the XM presets
are set to the default preview channel.  I had a theory that maybe an XM
subscription update just happens to be sent randomly at the same time I
switched driver profiles because I know that if you let your subscription lapse,
you will also loose all your presets. I called XM and they said it was my
vehicles problem.

This has been on-going since I bought this vehicle new.  Has anyone else had
this issue? How did you get it resolved?

We have a 2011 Durango with the same problem, though we lose presets to the driver 1 position as well. The dealer did a "software update" and seemed to be doing well for 6-8 months but the problem came back. I have heard the control clusters are garbage and believe it but it a crap shoot getting one that doesn't have this issue.
