Jeep stalling out

Asked by Jacktimmons4 Feb 19, 2019 at 01:09 PM about the 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,

Recently Ive had a problem with my 2000 jeep cherokee. Whenever I push the
car over 40+ mph or perhaps to a certain rpm, and then come to a stop or red
light, when in idle, the car will start jolting and shaking and pretty much the
engine shuts off and I can't get the car to move The battery stays on however, i
have to turn the car off and turn it back on. I took it to the mechanic and they
replaced my crank sensor. However, leaving the mechanic the problem
happened again! Im a broke college student and need assistance.

Do you have any advice? I checked it yesterday sitting in idle and it didn't start jolting and the engine didn't die. It only occurred when i was coming to a red light after going 55 mph.
